  • An acupuncturist has to recognize the anatomical points of human body.
  • He has to know the procedure of needle manipulation in human body.
  • An acupuncturist has to provide timely treatment for headache, tennis elbow, lower back pain and addictions etc.
  • An acupuncturist candidate needs to diagnose the problem in proper way before starting the treatment.
  • He needs to suggest proper acupuncture treatment after discussing the diagnostic status with other practitioners.
  • An acupuncturist’s responsibility is to decide the size and count of needles to be in inserted human body for treatment.
  • He has to recognize 365 acupuncture points in human body.
  • Acupuncturist’s duty is to educate the patients about acupuncture treatment sessions.

Skills and Specifications

  • An acupuncturist should be able to work in day & night shifts in case any medical emergency exists.
  • Acupuncture practitioner should have sympathetic attitude towards his patients and must be able to prepare them psychologically for acupunctured treatment.
  • He should be able to motivate his team to work efficiently by maintaining all cleanliness standards of the profession.
  • Acupuncture specialist should have the knowledge of nursing, medicine and physical therapy.
  • He must have perfect acupuncture skills to treat patients at his level best and keep their record shelves.

Education and Qualification

An Acupuncturist should have minimum of Graduation in acupuncture certified by the authority concerned and must have two year’s Masters Degree in acupuncture. Three years of training in some health institution is mandatory.
