Airline Catering Operations Manager Job Profile and Description

The Airline Catering Operations Manager is responsible for meeting daily catering production levels at the right quality and conformance to specification for client satisfaction.  He is responsible for ensuring the right manning levels, staff development, safe operations, implementation of productivity and quality programs, and raw material inventory controls to ensure that catering production and quality levels to meet customer orders.

Airline Catering Operations Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage people and resources to meet business objectives related to food and labor costs, sanitation, and quality assurance.
  • Ensures obedience with company rules and procedures, and assists and monitors compliance audits.
  • Develops plans to ensure company policies and procedures are utilized properly
  • Ensure compliance with safety best-practices through audits and inspections.
  • Support productivity and quality improvement efforts
  • Initiate problem solving efforts and assure implementation of solutions.
  • Mentor new subordinates on company policies.
  • Ensure conformance with customer requirements/specifications with on all airline accounts
  • Monitor training programs required ensuring all policies and procedures are followed and maintained.

  • Ability to multi-task without losing priority, work long hours in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.

Airline Catering Operations Manager Education and Qualifications

  • A BS degree in food technology, business management or related 3-4 year work experience is basic while an experience in an airline catering is a preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory or management position preferably in a food manufacturing company is an advantage
  • A masters degree in Management of Business Administration is an advantage
