Airline Equipment Handler Job Description/Profile
An airline equipment handler has the responsibility of ensuring that every aircraft leaving the hanger is well catered for and is safe for take off. This job requires a person who is very keen.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading all materials on or off the aircraft and catering truck
- Establishes and maintains a good relationship with the customers every time he is called to attend to them
- Provides exemplary customer service, whenever the need for him to provide service to a passenger presents itself, without expecting any giveaways in return
- Accept and deliver cargo and mail from different aircraft
- Providing accurate information about the flight’s arrival and departure times
- Transfers baggage to all the respective airlines during landing and take-off if necessary
- Can undertake any other duties assigned to him by the management
- Observe safety at all times while handling baggage in order to prevent occurrence of accidents
Skills and Specifications
- Must be have good telephone skills and should be able to operate a two way radio system
- Good communication skills with the ability to speak and write proper English
- Must be physically fit to be able to push, pull and lift heavy artillery on a frequent basis
- Must be very keen and attentive since this is a very sensitive position
- Must be very honest with high levels of proven integrity
Educational Qualification
- High school diploma/GDE level of education
- 1 year truck driving experience
