He also reviews the manuscript that has been submitted and determines the level of demand on the basis of the consumer trends. This professional is responsible for conferring with the publishers and authors in order to make them arrange every single detail about the book like the publication date, printing of copies, royalties etc. In short, he has to do perform all tasks related to writing of the book and its publication.
Book Editor Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviewing of every line of the manuscript for the purpose of detecting typos, misused grammatical mistakes, misused words and punctuation errors.
- Making sure that the content of the book is concise, correct, easy and accurate thereby making it easy to read and comprehend.
- Ensuring that maps, graphs and diagrams are matching the requisite needs and standards.
- Working individually with the author in order to detect and address the weaknesses in the story, which can be anything from- inconsistent pacing, improper structuring, contrivances etc.
