Cabin Crew Job Profile and Description

Cabin crews are mainly responsible for the safety of passengers and are specially trained to deal with security and emergency situations. The bulk of their training is in customer care and service. There is a mixture of both agile male and female crew members who are trained to attend to all the passengers aboard the aircraft in a speedy and sufficient manner to guarantee a memorable and pleasant trip.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Checking the safety equipment, ensuring the aircraft is clean and tidy
  • Informing the passengers of the aircraft safety procedures and taking them through the procedure in the event of an emergency
  • Ensuring that all hand luggage is securely stored away safely
  • Giving first aid to passengers where necessary
  • Serving meals and drinks to the passengers throughout the flight and preferably with a smile
  • Ushering in and welcoming (with a smile) passengers as they board the plane
  • Selling on board duty free products to willing passengers

Skills and Specifications

  • Be tactful and assertive especially in time of emergencies
  • Be well spoken and with a clear voice
  • Be calm under pressure and in emergencies confident and very friendly
  • Be sensitive and reassuring towards people who are anxious or upset
  • Be very efficient and swift in undertaking your duties
  • Be self motivated
  • Be very patient and highly tolerant

Educational Qualification

  • High school diploma,
  • College education, especially¬†cabin crew training is an added advantage and rather mandatory
