Chemical engineers are responsible for work related to the production of chemicals or any other product related to chemical processing. They apply the theories and principles of chemistry for various industrial chemical processes are concerned with the manufacturing, operation, and marketing of equipment that can be used in factories for large scale operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Chemical engineers work with various industrial chemical processes which helps produce different types of goods
- They may specialize in specific areas like oxidation, pollution control, fertilisers, or in the production of plastics
- They work in factories which related to petroleum, and electronic products and supervise various processes which bring products to the consumers
- They solve any practical problems that may take place during the manufacture of products
- They consult with chemists and have to do various experiments to calculate the temperature and pressure required in a process
- They also help design buildings and suggest what equipment will be required
- They give an idea of the number of people needed to operate a plant and also the cost of power and raw materials
- They must make sure that all the environment and government regulations are followed and safety precautions are taken
- They sometimes also help to build small-scale models of the actual processing plant which allow them to test their work
