An electrical engineer’s job description is concerned with electrical production, and its uses. Electrical engineering is considered the largest field of all the engineering fields. They deal with the production of electricity and its supply. As an electrical engineer, there are only two areas of specialization. These areas are electronics and electric power. Engineers who deal with electric power, handle large amounts of electricity, and monitor the creation of electricity from the power generating stations and power plants and its transmission to consumers. On the other hand, the field of electronics deals with smaller electricity quantities in equipment like radar, missile guide systems as well as telephone and other electrical appliance systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Are involved in the generation and the supply of electricity.
- Solve electrical problems that may arise in any appliance or premises.
- Develop ideas of new electronic devices.
- Make plans of the new equipment required.
- Repair and upgrade the already existing equipment.
- Oversee construction of power generators.
- Oversee installation of the power generators.
- Operate power generators and ensure that they function within the optimum levels.
- Manufacture and maintain telephone circuits.
- Act as consultants and advice their clients on the nature of electrical material required the viable alternatives and so on.

Education and Qualifications
- A state license.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited school.
- Master’s or doctoral degree in order to remain at an advantage.
