A fashion colorist is a qualified individual who is responsible for the color in the fabrics used for producing garments. They usually have to work in a laboratory.  It is in the laboratory that they have to build the required color for the garment. They also have to ensure that the quality of the color is maintained.

It is the duty of a fashion colorist to determine the formula in order to duplicate colors. They also have to record formula of colors and issues. Sometimes they have to coordinate color shop activities as well.
