Financial examiner works closely with the directors, senior management, heads of financial institutes etc. to get the latest information and discuss the findings. He is responsible for getting the latest updates or changes in the laws, government policies and understanding their meaning. He will be responsible for checking the final and legal aspects of the buyouts, joint ventures, creating a new facility etc. The main task of a financial examiner lies in verifying and examining cash reserves, allocated collaterals and securities owned by bank.
Financial Examiner Duties and Responsibilities
- Exchanging views with representatives of securities, real estate, and financial institutional industries by consulting them and discussing pending cases or issues.
- Establishing guidelines for policies and procedures that act in accordance with the latest regulations and directing in their implementation.
- Ensure institutional activities comply with the laws and regulations and also ensure that the transactions are legal.
- Ensuring safety and soundness of institution and recommending suitable solutions to uncertain financial conditions.
- Checking and solving the problems for loans, available funding, bank accounts etc.
- Check the audit reports and meet with auditors to discuss the same for checking the non-compliance in the routines and suggest the required changes.
- Checking the balance sheets, income / expenditure accounts, loan documents etc. to have a look at the organizations available assets and liabilities.
- Conducting interviews with the financial manager to supervise financial reports and transactions.
Financial Examiner Education, Training and Qualification
Associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or economics from a reputed institute or university with first class throughout the academics is required. Relevant experience of 5 – 7 years is required for this position.
Financial Examiner Degrees, Courses and Certification
Some employers prefer individuals with a master’s degree in finance or accounting. Completing any internship programs in this field to gain some experience would improve the job prospects.
