A flight attendant’s job mainly entails ensuring through his or her acquired training that the passengers are taken through the safety regulations, and that they have a very pleasurable and comfortable flight experience when they fly the respective airline. This can become boring due to the routine that is associated with the job description so it requires that one be constantly motivated in order not to burn out.

Duties and Responsibilities

Flight attendant job duties and responsibilities include:

Assisting passengers during the flight by explaining safety procedures
Should the need arise, she or he performs first aid on the passenger in question
Ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the aircraft at all times throughout the flight
Serving meals and ensuring passengers have a pleasant trip by responding to their every need
Answering any questions arising from the passengers
Working closely with the pilots- acting as a liaison between the pilot and passengers

Skills and Specifications

Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus
Great people skills
Great ability to multi task
An excellent team player
Should have a great deal of knowledge of the various countries’ regulations in order to accordingly advice/inform the passengers
Excellent customer service skills
Great problem solving skills, and ability to think on your feet

Educational Qualifications

A high school diploma is mandatory
Training in the aviation industry is highly essential for instance in Tours and Travel Management, Customer Care ,etc
