Information Technology Security Consultant Job Profile and Description

The information technology security consultant provides advisory and technical support to help the clients to improve the information risk and security management function to respond to the increasing cyber security threat. The consultant does this by providing information security subject matter expertise and utilizing its business consulting acumen to work collaboratively with the clients to design build and implement pragmatic security solutions. The consultant works with truly global organizations and the related complexity of their compliance requirement. Customizing the Company’s core assets to support designs that are appropriate for each client; Designing pragmatic but effective cyber security defenses for our client.

Information Technology Security Consultant Duties and Responsibilities

Offers internal management consultancy advice and practical assistance on information security risk and control matters throughout the organization and promotes the commercial advantages of managing information security risks more efficiently and effectively.

Develops information security strategies.

Develops information security roadmaps, business cases and remediation plans.

Contributes towards the preparation and authorizes the implementation of necessary security policies, standards, procedures and guidelines, in conjunction with the security.

Conducts information security risks assessments and control selection activities.

Design and implementation of security processes.

Definition and development of security control designs including those required to support external regulations.

Information Technology Security Consultant Skills and Specification

Previous Full-time work experience in information security management and/or related functions (such as IT audit and IT Risk Management).

A background in technical IT roles such as IT architecture, development or operations, with a clear and abiding interest in information security.

Eagerness to contribute in a team oriented environment.

Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem solving environment taking business problems, existing processes and technology and translate these into service and process.

Strong communication both verbal and writing and strong interpersonal skills.

Information Technology Security Consultant Education and Qualification

A bachelor’s degree in information System, Compute Science or any related discipline.

The applicant should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in an IT security role or industry, with exposure in Pre-sales and/or Post-sales of medium to large/complex security systems.

Should have a good knowledge of consulting framework, and methodologies.
