• Thorough knowledge of body pressure points, soft tissue condition, joint functioning, muscle complications, method of using wet compresses, and other important massages and therapies.

• It is also her duty to practice hygiene and other sanitary procedures to reduce the chances of infection and keep the room and the equipments clean after usage. Only after a detailed discussion with her client, she would choose a massage, considering the physical health, previous ailments, and accidents, if any and then recommend a massage or a therapy.

• In cases of accidents or serious injury even physiotherapy may be prescribed or recommended.

• The masseuse needs to have strong communication skills, empathetic personality, must enjoy working in the company of people, be friendly, patient and must care about the well-being of her customers and most importantly develop a rapport with the clients and try his best to make them feel comfortable.

• Massage therapy programs include different branches of medicine like anatomy; physiology etc. training is all about methodology of massages.

• Qualifications would include 500 hours or more for a degree .After that a training program is a must and one has to get a license from nationally recognized examinations.
