An oil refinery supervisor’s job responsibilities are similar to a manager and he is responsible for looking after all the operations and coordinating different activities in an oil refinery. He follows project deadlines and makes sure that the daily output targets are met. He must also ensure that all the safety procedures and environment guidelines are followed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- An oil refinery manager is like leader who gives instructions to all the workers in a refinery and helps them learn about the different tasks
- He works according to the set guidelines for a project and solve problems related to any operation in the refinery
- He is in charge of the execution of projects and must stay in touch with customers and clients
- He also has to conduct safety training programmes
- He has to keep track of every operation and ensure that environment standards, government guidelines and company requirements are met
- He must check if critical inventories and equipment are there and there is no defect in them
- He also make sure all the operations are conducted within the budget and he needs to file reports about the what their performance
- He needs to coordinate among other departments and must be in contact with existing clients and build relations with new ones

- He must have exceptional leadership skills and should motivate the workers
- He must have good analytical skills and negotiation skills
- He must have basic knowledge of computers and good training skills
Education and Qualifications
An oil refinery supervisor must have adequate experience to reach this stage. He must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business management or a science degree in chemistry, physics or an engineering degree.
