pilot’s job is mainly flying passengers and cargo on a national and international basis for business, commercial and leisure purposes. Once airborne, the pilot has a responsibility to ensure in every way he knows how to ensure the safety of all aboard that aircraft: the crew, passengers and even the cargo. The aircraft is usually operated by two, three or four pilots depending on the type of aircraft and length of the journey anticipated.

Duties and Responsibilities

Pilot job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Being responsible for checking the weather conditions and confirming if they are friendly and therefore conducive for take off
  • Liaising with the air traffic controllers to ensure the accuracy of the flight plan reflects the expected circumstances of the flight
  • Updating the aircraft log book on a daily basis on the status of the journey
  • Writing a report at the end of the flight noting any incidents or problems experienced with the aircraft throughout the journey
  • Operating the aircraft safely and economically to maximize on its ability and ensure the company spends minimally for every trip
  • Ensuring that every instrument in the  aircraft is checked  before and after take off to ensure a safe and trouble free journey

Skills and Specifications

    • Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Great problem-solving skills, and ability to think on your feet

Educational Qualifications

Professional pilot degree or master’s qualification is mandatory
