The main duty of a product safety engineer is to recommend steps to eliminate or reduce health hazards that could happen due to product misuse. These professionals also help in the preparation of precautionary label and product usage instructions.

- Processing Information, inspecting equipment for identifying the cause of the problems or defects that have cropped up.
- Using relevant information and diverse judgment plans for determining the occurrence of different events in keeping with the laws or standards.

A minimum level of education required for a product safety engineer is a bachelor’s degree in Engineering field like electrical, mechanical, chemical, or aerospace engineering etc. Few years of work experience in engineering or product safety management related field is necessary to find employment easily.
