Reflexology is called a zone treatment and used as a natural healer consisting of application of pressure on different parts of body. Reflexologist are highly skilled professionals who work to improve general health of patients by providing massage to feet’s, arms and ears. This therapy releases the pressure from human body by improving blood circulation and leaves a relaxed feeling.

Duties and Responsibilities

He is responsible for suggesting treatments for back problems, hypertension, digestive problems, insomnia and many others.

A reflexologist’s basic duty is to diagnose the body map for pressure levels and detect the acute stressed points.

He has to measure the lactic pressure at feet surface to calculate nerve pressure.

His duties include setting up a life style questionnaire to enquire about issues related with diet, exercise and work related tensions.

Reflexologist should know reflex points of hand, feet and body to provide accurate pressure.

He has to identify serious issues like migraine, hormonal imbalance and stress related disorders before starting the reflexology treatment.

Skills and Specifications

He should be aware of 7000 nerves and sensitive pressure points in human body.

He must be able to maintain the records of treatment and medical history of patient including all diagnosed reports.

A reflexologist should be skilled to treat reflex zone in body to keep stressed tissues and nerves tension free.

He should be able to suggest remedies and guidance to improve diet and do certain exercises.

He must be able to explain the root cause of stress to patients and should be aware of time interval to stop the treatment when the stress is cured.

Education and Qualifications

A reflexologist should be a Graduate in biology stream with six months of course in reflexology. To work on a senior designation, he must be a post graduate in the concerned stream along with one year of reflexology courses.
