Travel Executive Job Profile and Description

A travel executive job outlook involves being in charge of promoting and selling holiday and business travel products directly to the general public, usually from a travel agency’s retail outlet.

Duties and Responsibilities

The following are the major travel executive responsibilities:

  • Responsible for selling holiday and travel products to the public
  • Ensure sales targets that  have been set out by the travel agency manager are met
  • Responsible for dealing with complicated customer itineraries and complaints
  • Are in charge of handling customer orders and payments
  • Liaise with tour operator companies and other key partners such as hotels and airlines regarding bookings and schedules
  • Are in charge of general administration
  • Responsible for advising clients about passports, vaccinations, visas, foreign currency, travel insurance, car parking, car hire abroad and excursions in resorts
  • Oversee the usage and updating IT skills, since information on holiday packages and bookings is usually accessed via a network
  • Organize displays of promotional material.
