  • Meet with faculty teaching staff to collegially define and develop the course content and curriculum for the courses offered in the college in line with minimum recommended standards by the state education board of regents.
  • Conduct the final screening and approve student admission and transfers from other colleges and universities
  • Recommend operating and capital budget of the faculty for approval by the College Dean.
  • Evaluate and recommend the hiring of applicants for the faculty staff.
  • Open opportunities that encourage faculty staff training, career development and advancement.
  • Chair committees as may be appointed by the University president.
  • Oversee and strike a healthy balance among administrators, faculty staff and student welfare.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and diplomatic skills
  • Must have strong academic background a portfolio of published works
  • Must have excellent organizational, leadership and managerial skills

University Faculty Department Head Education and Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in the specific field of learning such as Physics, Mathematics, Economics, etc., is basic but a doctor’s degree is an advantage especially when there’s career competition for the position
  • 5-8 years of experience as full professor in the college is an advantage.
