An internet application developer is the main figure in solving complex problems associated with the market dynamics and web-based applications. He assists to identify market and client demands and develops, tests and launches an appropriate web application. He is responsible for creating, benchmarking, testing and verifying applications specifically designed for online interaction. The overall measure of success for a web application developer is simply the ability to deliver projects according to business and technical specifications and on time.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Problem-solving and responding to product questions/issues, and react as necessary
  • Testing new software and fixing bugs
  • Designing the relationships and objects of a full web-based system and programming such a system.
  • Assisting in documenting and managing product requirements
  • Researching, developing and approving web based applications
  • Assisting in creating and executing test plans for QA and manual testing
  • Learn the clients’ business needs and apply this understanding when designing and testing new products/features

Education and Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Familiarity with SOAP, Unix/Linux, XML/XSL, J2EE, AJAX,EJB, JavaScript, HTML, Struts, CSS
  • Knowledge of Oracle or other compatible PL/SQL and SQL.
  • Ability to analyze detailed log files and troubleshoot problems
  • Education in System Analysis, Product Development and Design or a related field
  • Strong understanding of application servers, web servers (IIS) and other elements of an internet infrastructure
