Spa Manager Job Profile and Description
A spa manager primarily manages the spa facilities within the hotel or health club, including managing all hair stylists, beauty therapists and skincare specialists. The parlor manager will ensure quality of service and personal development being provided as well as making sure that the spa and beauty facilities are running efficiently and maintained. In certain facilities the spa manager duties will also involve organizing events, driving revenue and developing initiatives to facilitate these.
Spa manager jobs are often found in hotels, cruise ships, health clubs and leisure centers. The major responsibilities of a spa manager will largely be determined by the size of the facility. This is also a major factor in determining the salaries of the job.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of a spar manager include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensuring that the spa achieves or exceeds its set goals in relation to cost of operations and spa revenue, whilst providing highest quality level customer service
- Training, hiring, motivating, evaluating and directing spa staff
- Ensuring the tidiness and cleanliness of the spa facilities and good working operation of all Spa equipments
- Necessitating the tranquility and esthetic beauty of the spa facilities in order to promote an appealing and relaxing environment
- Maintaining the client database, scheduling appointments, managing contract laborers and employees
- Placing orders of supplies and retail, managing inventory control and interviewing new staff members

- Proven spa leadership ability
- Personable, enthusiastic and ambitious with the ability to direct, hire and train staff
- Excellent time management, communication, organizational and follow-up skills
- Punctuality, professionalism and be a self starter
- Social and organized individual with a strong work ethic
Education and Qualifications
Minimum college degree in beauty therapy, administration and management or related field
